Summer Session COVID-19 update
On behalf of First Tee of Greater Pasadena (FTGP), we hope you are all safe at home and healthy. Safety is our first concern at FTGP, including our participants & their families, coaches, and volunteers. We would like to continue to thank all the first responders, hospital workers and anyone who works in an essential business that are working long hours these days.
With all schools closing for the remainder of the school year, and not being able to participate in golf and other sports or outdoor activities has been an adjustment for all of us. When golf does come back, we feel that our organization and what we provide will be at the forefront of youth organizations. Conducting classes outside; in a controlled space that allows social distancing standards to apply and no direct physical contact between participant to participant or participant to coach sets us apart from other outdoor and/or indoor activities. Our organization has created and developed new health and safety policy and procedures that will be enforced for all participants, parents and staff when programming resumes.
Our programming staff has been working hard at adjusting our projected summer camps and our 8-week summer session schedule. Our chapter has been in contact with local golf officials and have discussed anticipated dates and new procedures when golf resumes. Many of you may know that golf courses in counties such as Riverside, San Bernardino and Orange are now open, but must follow strict operations guidelines. With all the courses that we conduct programming at in Los Angeles County, we’re being informed that a mid-May opening of golf courses could happen. As for our 8-week summer session, we are expecting as of now to start the week of July 6th. Online registration for the summer session is now open!
We will be posting our new health and safety policy and procedures on our website and social media sites. When your child/children do come back, you will see more visual aids to assist with social distancing. We ask you as parents to assist us with helping your child/children adhere to standards before and after classes.

General information regarding the session
The summer session will start the week of July 6th and run for 8-consecutive weeks. The class you register meets once per week at the day/time/location that you register for. We ask that you only attend the class that you are registered for. If you can not attend a class due illness, vacation or emergency; please contact either Mark Fritz or Dan Hufford for a possible make-up at another day/time/location. If the weather is bad, we post under our Program Section (Weather Update and Class Cancelation) the status of the class. We also post on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Anytime we cancel a class, we will add the make-up to the end of the session.
- TARGET classes are 1.0 hours in length.
- PLAYer, Par, Birdie and Eagle are 1.5 hours in length.
- Our Tournament Leagues are 3.0 hours in length.
Locations (Course/City): Alhambra Golf Course (Alhambra); Altadena Golf Course (Altadena); Arroyo Seco (South Pasadena); Brookside Golf Club (Pasadena); Diamond Bar Golf Course (Diamond Bar); Marshall Canyon Golf Course (La Verne); Scholl Canyon Golf Course (Glendale).
Each golf course has a different registration area. Please give yourself an additional 15 minutes on the 1st day of class to locate our location. Our staff will have a Wing Banner up at the registration area. In most cases are registration area is located near the driving range at most courses.
Participant fee structure for 2020
Introduction and Intermediate Level Classes (TARGET, PLAYer, PAR, TEEN & Girl’s classes): $100/session per Child.
Advance Level Classes (Birdie, PLAY Leagues, Eagle Club) $125/session per Child
Special Classes (Parent and Me) $100/session per Parent & Child
Yearly Membership Fee: A $25 Yearly Membership fee will be required once per programming year. The 2020 Yearly Membership fee starts December 1, 2019 through November 30, 2020.
